The board can under-light in red, blue OR purple (press the sunburst symbol Light key next to the Function (FN) key to change), and each colour has three intensities, (use Function key with Page Up (PgUp) and Page Down (PgDn) keys to change). Mercifully there is also 'off' for those who don't want this gimmick. The keys are not lit through so in a very dark environment the lettering/numbering is actually harder to see with the under-light on. If you want a light show, press the Function key and the Light key next to it, and the colours fade up and down and cycle. Press the Light key alone to stop. No manual came with my board and I can't find one on the web. Other than a few keys being in a different position to what I'm used to - e.g. the Function key (FN) is right of the spacebar instead of left - I had to establish what the twelve 'F' keys do in conjunction with the Function key held down. They work like this on my machine/system: FUNCTION + F1 = Launches my media player (VLC) " + F2 = Volume down " + F3 = Volume up " + F4 = Mute " + F5 = Stop " + F6 = Back to start or previous program " + F7 = Pause/start " + F8 = End or next program " + F9 = Launches my email program " + F10 = Launches my browser " + F11 = IMPORTANT This disables all F keys plus Function key operations, except F11 plus Function to enable again. When disabled, F keys work only per basic system controls. " + F12 = Launches my system calculator To the right of the main keyboard is a numeric keypad. Above this are the symbols 1, A and G. When the NUMBER LOCK IS pressed a light appears over the '1'. When the CAPS LOCK is pressed a light over the 'A'. I haven't discovered what makes the light above the 'G' appear? I think it should be when Function+F11 is used as there's no indication you've disabled the Function key. Maybe it should and mine's broken? Personal dislikes: The ENTER key is too small and the right SHIFT is too big. Conversely the left SHIFT key is too small. No indication when the Function key is disabled. No manual. It's NOT a mechanical keyboard but is 'mechanical style'. If you're buying in the UK and see Chinese or American advertising that says otherwise, are they endorsed by the British Advertising Standards Authority and/or Trading Standards? No, of course not. Check the layout is proper UK, e.g. with the £ symbol and CTRL + ALT with number 4 gets the € symbol. Read full review
