The game has 3 chapters so did Diablo 2. The game had almost one hit kills, Diablo did also. You popped health potions like a person taking antacid pills on a very upset stomach, Diablo was exactly the same. The game isn't bad, don't get me wrong, but if you remember diablo 1 and 2 and loved it you will feel right at home here. The graphics are superb and the special effects aren't bad either. I got this because my friend wanted to multi it. BEWARE tho, because this game is like diablo, your customize of your character appearance is absolutly 0%. I wish it had more ways to make your hero different than everyone else, the only thing that sets you apart is your skills and stats, which IS exactly how diablo was. You like Greek mythology like me and like diablo which I have kinda had enough of, buy this without hesitation.Read full review
Good game. It's keeping me busy, that's for sure. It's not a revolutionary game, as it does follow in Diablo's foot steps, but it's still a different story and has much more updated graphics. Online play is so-so. There's no "Battle.net" type of system. You will be using the same character you play single player as you do online, so when hacks are created, it probably won't be so fun online. I am going to sell it as soon as I complete the game. I'm not going to be replaying it. For my character I chose a Defense/Wanderer thinking I'd be playing online a lot. I wish I had focused more on a melee damage character, because there was really no point in choosing a support class if I'm not playing with allies (and there's no henchmen so far, and I'm in Egypt). In other words, unless you'll be playing online a lot, don't choose a support class.Read full review
If you are a fan of Diablo like I am, then this game is for you! Travel from town to town with plenty of action to be had by all...from the walking dead and skeletons to nasty little spiders that just won't leave you alone. Work your way up in experience as a warrior or as a specialized magic user or something in between. You choose your own destiny, grasshopper! ONLY complaint....there is just too much booty lying around after you get done with the bad guys. You have to spend too much time "picking up after yourself". The graphics are O.K. and the storyline is good but it looks like I will finish the game without finding half of the good items such as completing my set of specialty armor or finding that one special weapon that nothing can stand up to. Oh well! Enjoy!!
If you've played Diablo 2 or any of the many clones that have come out after it, you pretty much know what your getting. Basically leveling up your character by wiping out waves of enemies and treasure hunting for better equipment. The story is OK, if forgetable, you follow a main quest and their are multiple side quests along the way. It basically all boils down to go find something or go kill something, not the most original idea, but its done pretty well I guess. The combat is fun, but tends to be the same thing over and over. Basically you walk around and monsters charge you in large waves. Your character is usually strong enough to wipe them out in a hit or two, occassionally you have to use a little strategy. Make that very little (I found hit a few times, run away and heal, hit a few more time worked just about every time) strategy. The enemies never displayed any creativity, and the combat seems to get a little repetative. You pile up experience to build levels and increase your stats. Each level you increase you get points to assign attributes and points to assign to skills. Attribes (str, dex, int, etc) control what type of equipment you can use, as equipment carries requirements with an associated attribute. Skills can vary from magic (ice, fire, etc.) to attack/defense skills. You can choose two skill trees to master, and get attack skill or defensive buffs and summoned creatures. Its a pretty solid system, but not the most original in the world. There is a ton of equipment to sort through and buy, you can also enchant equipment. It has different levels, rareties, and sets you can try to collect. Enemies drop their equipment, and chest are scattered everywhere. Luckily you have a handy portal that will take you back to the last town so you can sell off your excess. Overall, I did enjoy the game, though its not the best of the genre. I would reccomend trying Diable 2 or Dungeon Siege 2 first. That being said, if you like the genre this game is a fun distraction for a little while. 6/10Read full review
I bought this game primarily for multiplayer LAN sessions with my wife and my son, and I tell you it didn't disappoint any of us. The requirements especially for graphics is a little bit on the high side, I did have issues with my wife's ATI card but when I switched to Nvidia card and if you can max out all the options without suffering gameplay then the game really shines. Grass sways, reacts to your movements, ripple in the water, etc. I normally stop playing a PC game when I finish it but this is the first PC game I played again when I "unlocked" the next difficulty level, have to look for more blue and purple items......
