Had this one for nearly 2 years and it has never failed. I have had other brands of power line and some reset themselves if there is a power surge. Not TP link. The body is slim enough to sit next to another plug in a wall mount double socket. It will "talk" to other brand power line devices quite happily. With over 40 years experience in computer hardware - I choose TP LINK.

It was plug and play out of the box. It really does not come any easier than this. Once the base adapter was linked to our main router it was just a case of pushing the pairing buttons and we were up and running. So easy to use and I now have a steady and strong internet link to my office in the garden. Could not ask for more. Slight concern that after several hours of use the adapters seem to enter into a self diagnostic mode which cuts off the internet for a few minutes and streaming from BBC radio sites is not particularly stable. BUT everything else works just fine.

Very easy to set up, it took about 30 secs from pressing the pair button on one unit then on 2nd unit and it worked straight away, and is still working without problem and system shows a strong signal. Saved about 20mtrs of hard wire to router, and incidentally it is plugged into an extension lead. (against all advice!). Great product.

Title says it all .... this is simple. I had a pair of pass-throughs previously but wanted to extend my network; concerned that new units might not be compatible with existing, I chose to buy four (two passthrough and two plain) new. There's a 'synchro' button to press when first installing, but they seem to work without so I get the impression that the buttons are to enable some sort of security (?).
