I don't know a great deal about Tracey Chapman, but I have what I think are her two earliest albums, this one and her eponymous one (I'm happy to be corrected if they are not her 2 earliest albums). I must say that this is an album of 10 gems; every one is a winner. I'd thoroughly recommend this CD to anyone who wanted to get a feel of what the artist is about before diving into the whole catalogue. You won't be disappointed!

I used to have this album on cassette tape, so I was overjoyed when I found it available on CD. My daughter listens to it countless times a week - and even though she's Burmese she sings along with the lyrics as if they are a part of her. Tracy Chapman may have an idiosyncratic voice, but there's no mistaking her songs - not just the ones covered by better known artistes, but the ones that have earned tremendous respect in the world of folk music, too. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, just buy it for yourself. I bet you'll be singing along with it, too, just like my daughter.

What a truly brilliant album this is. I hate the word awesome but I'm using it now because it describes perfectly the wonderful music produced here. There is not one track that isn't great. Quite unique.
