pacebo are one of my all time favourite bands and next to their new album (meds) black market music is equally the best and ultimate album with great tracks like special k and black-eyed. brilliant cd every song a classic.
Placebo's third helping, Black Market Music, sees the boys exploring wider, deeper and darker tunnels. Fans will know this was a difficult time for the band, what with the success of their previous albums clashing with their recovering drug addictions. However, all this pushed what is to be possibly one of their best albums. You can realy feel what went into this album, and mixed with the bands experimental nature it is a very fresh, real sound. Kicking off with the undeniably good "Taste In Men" (basically setting the tone for the whole album)it creeps its way from issue to issue, each song individual, yet all working together."Peeping Tom" closes the official content of the album on a mellow tone, leaving you satisfied and at ease. However, "Black Market Blood", the bonus track, gives you a slight feeling of unease as this encore finishes what "Taste In Men" started. Overall, although fans dub this as the 'not particularly great one' Black Market Music goes out and achieves exactly what it is meant to do, pushing boundaries and knocking down barriers, all the while doing it in Placebo's distinctive style. I, personally, am impressed and bookmark this album as a great listen. Give it a try!Read full review
