I have over the years tried a number of various thread extraction tools, the only 100% reliable one has been spark erosion, but very expensive and not readily available. These Teng extraction tools are a unique design and have proved to be exceptionally good. I have removed a number of broken studs from both aluminium and steel, in itself a good recommendation. They do not look particularly well finished but they are very effective. I would recommend them to any engineer as a good addition to the tool kit.

Had to extract a broken spark plug , bought these as recommended by you tube videos , broke off in plug hole . Now if I was being brutal I wouldn't moan but I was using a standard 1/4 ratchet. Broke way too easily considering what it's designed for.

Excellent bite and quality. Much better than cheapo extractors which can snap off in use and leave a real problem. Wheel off. Centre punched stud remnant. A hard nail will do. Screwfix extreme cobalt bits 2mm first, then 4mm then 6.5mm. Use cutting oil or whatever you have. Keep drill square and drill right through the stud. Knocked 2nd biggest extractor into holed stud with hammer until tight. Wrench onto extractor. Tap wrench with hammer to turn and shock nut out. Worked first time! A bit surprised how easy it was. Extractor bites into metalwork nicely. Hardly a mark on it after use. Well worth the money for occasional use. Best in this price bracket.
