I am new to reloading and have quite the library of reloading books, but still felt that I was missing a lot and had a lot of unanswered questions. I have friends that have been doing it for a long time but honestly how much do you think they really want to be called up with a question. This book covers everything I have had questions about and even lots that I had never thought of. A buddy of mine that has been reloading for years said he still uses this book for guidance on what and what not to try. Guess you get braver with experience. :) As the first rule of reloading goes Start small and BE SAFE! I am ready to start reloading on my own because of this book. I highly recommend The ABCs of Reloading, and it will get you started off on the right foot.
Starting with the basics, this guide will lead the reader through the process of reloading handgun, rifle and shotgun cartridges with ease. Perfect for beginners and a great refresher for experienced reloaders, the book first discusses all the necessary tools and accessories needed to get started, then goes through step-by-step instructions and safety tips for loading metallic cartridges and shotshells. Helpful illustrations guide readers through each step and make the process easy to understand. The ABCs of Reloading covers all aspects of the hobby, from benchrest loading techniques, to ballistic software, to competition and hunting loads and more. Readers will appreciate how the book makes a complex subject understandable and fun.
ABC of Reloading contains a wealth of information about ammunition, both modern and classic, much of which would be difficult to find, at least in a single comprehensive source. It is a detailed overview of firearm ammunition from the very early days to now. I bought this book sight unseen on a recomendation. I expected it to contain all of the information I needed to be able to reload my own ammunition, but that was not the case. Now I have to buy another manual to do that. I operate on a very limited budget and feel my money would have been better spent on a practical reloading guide from Speer, Hodgdon, Lee, etc. I would reccomend this book, but only with the preceding information in mind.
This book was recommended on a reloading site. I am still reading it but so far it is an eady to read and understand book. I just have very little time to read, too many hobbies, work full time and a grandparent. But I look forward to each opportunity to sit with this book.
