I would highly recommend this book. It is clear to understand and follow the instructions. Loads of recipes and also hints and tips. There are no pictures, just great recipes. I bought the book as an upgrade of my previous book by her, as my old one had fallen apart with age and use.

Does what it says on the tin - massive amounts of recipes for jams, jellies, chutneys etc. And the recipes are good - tried a couple of them and they work. Marguerite Patten knew her stuff, and if you're searching for a recipe to preserve almost any fruit or veg you'll find it in the book Only downside is the Basic Basics in the title refers to the publishing, there are no pictures whatsoever, and the font and layout is pretty low rent. That said it's not intended for you to browse - just to provide specific info when you need it. And it does that very well
