This is a unusual book in that it is written by a sailor in close contact with the highest signals during the Falklands War. Unfortunately itis let down by it's poor proof reading and unsatisfactory time line; one moment the book is about to describe his first posting to the HMS Brittania - but the next line we are in HMS Broadswor starting to head south! The description of surviving on the frigate during wartime is compelling but unfortunately let down by the inaccuracies that are inckuded (eg: "We shot down 4 jets one morning" that is understandable, but totally incorrect. It is surprising that someone who later accumulated years of service still allows the Exocet anit ship weapon to be described as an anti aircraft weapon! Despite these issues it is another good addition to my collection iof Falklands War boojks that adds valuablwe insights to the story! Read full review
