fantastic guidebook to provide comfort/guidence in the toddler years
I am a massive Gina Ford fan and used the Contented Baby book with my son from about 3 weeks old. I don't confess to say that her methods will work for every child, but if you are looking for some extra guidence or reassurance that your own methods are the right way to go for your little one then this book is a great follow on, or introduction to setting boundries, enhancing play and a gentle introduction into discipline (in a positive way). Even if you don't agree with some bits, you can take the bits you might find useful and apply them with your own thoughts on what works as we all know one size doesn't fit all! A really interesting read and certainly a must for those who have successfully used Gina's methods withg their babies. I think sometimes her discussions around what a baby should be doing at a certain age can be a bit out as not all children develop at the same time, but the age ranges she discusses are quite broad and as long as you don't get worries if for example your 19 month toddler can't undress themselves "but you might need to help them with a zip" which i found hilarious as my son wouldn't have a clue just yet (I can just about catch him to get a nappy on! then you'll enjoy this.Read full review

All that I needed!
I had read 'The Contented Baby' and thought this book could help me with my toddler...and I was absolutely right. I felt helpless every time I had to deal with my little girl's tantrums and thought I would never be able to be a happy mum with a happy toddler but thanks to Gina Ford I was wrong. If you are the kind of parent who believes your children can and should be brought up in a loving but home then this book is for you.
