I had read Harry Bernstein's book, The Invisible Wall, about his childhood in Stockport which is my home too. I could relate to places mentioned in that book and was eager to find out about the Jewish/Christian compatability at that time. Sometimes the follow on book is not so compelling and this one is set in America, which is unfamiliar to me but it was equally as good and kept me wondering about where Harry's life would take him.

I had already read Harry Bernsteins first book “ The Invisible Line”, it taught me about the history of the early years of the area of Stockport that I grew up in. A story I never knew about, so interesting and heartwarming so when I found other books Harry had written it was a must that I read them. A lovely story brilliantly written.
