I remembered this and had the video but no video player any more. It is really imaginative and a cross between Back to the Future and a love story. I felt the second play was no where near as good as the first- but the first is exceptional. Peter Firth is brilliant and quite subtly 'other worldly'. also they accurately predict Elexa (but she is called Sue!) I laughed as much (if not more) as I did when I saw the original (where can I buy the hat!) s

I bought this DVD as I have very good memories of this gentle sci-fi series when it first came out in the early 1980's. I am pleased to say that the series has aged very well considering all the modern special effects that are around nowadays. There are no gory fight scenes either that you seem to get in modern films and programmes today. Peter Firth was born for this role as the naive time traveller. I think on the whole though, the first story is the better out of the two because the second story seems to go off at a tangent with another time traveller getting arrested after being involved in some sort of kidnapping plot. To me, it just wasn't in keeping with the spirit of the series. Both programmes definitely worth a look-in though.
Wonderful to be taken back in time to 1980 when I first saw Peter Firth. A really sweet tale of time travel and love. Original, funny but also a bit sad.

I remembered this being on television in the 'eighties - and it is just as good as I remembered it. A really interesting story with likeable and engaging characters, and it has not 'dated' as I feared it might. Very enjoyable, and I will watch it again and again.

First saw this when it was on TV, never forgot it. i was over the Moon when its sequel Another Flip for Dominick was shown. Its tale of a visitor from the future (whose job is watching 20th Century London Traffic) landing on the 'Flipside' to search for his Grandfather turns into a bitter sweet love story with quite a novel twist. In the sequel Dominick returns to the Flipside to find one of his trainees who has not returned from his mission. This time Dominck has to ensure that nothing happens in the past that will affect his future world, of course dropping in on the girl he met last time. The special effects are very dated and laughable yet the storyline, particularly in the first disc is, i think, a remarkable piece of work, making many relevent comments on where the world was heading. Looking back 20 years the writor was spot on! To anyone who has not seen these "films" i urge you to treat yourself one weekend....have a Flip with Dominick, you wont regret it!Read full review
