Watch this to see how they did special effects before before modern technology made it look so easy. My kids (9 and 12) love this - I think the apparently amateurish animation made them realise how really difficult it must have been to do. Computer graphics just look too lifelike and don't give any clue to the casual observer of the real challenges involved- we've seen the seventh voyage of sinbad and jason and the argonauts so we had to have this one too. I'd say Jason is slightly better, but they are all classics worth watching.
The marvellous skills of special effects pioneer Ray Harryhausen are showcased in this spectacular fantasy adventure starring John Phillip Law as the legendary seaman Sinbad. A multi-armed fighting statue and a huge, wooden ship's figurehead that comes creakingly to life are some of the dangers Sinbad faces.
Rip roaring adventure with some wonderful special effects for the time. My husband especially enjoys this movie for another reason......Caroline Munro! My oldest son (5 years) was spellbound by the weird and wonderful creatures Sinbad had to overcome. Timeless family fun.
