About this product

Product Information

Charlie Howard - mystery writer and professional thief - is flush with the success of his Paris book reading when he agrees to show a novice the basics of the trade by breaking into the man's own apartment. Trouble ensues when it turns out the apartment belongs to someone else. The next day, Charlie's fence hires him to steal an ordinary-looking oil painting - from the same address. Mere coincidence? Charlie reckons there's no harm in finding out - until a dead body turns up in his living room. Hiding in a Montmartre hotel, Charlie tries to work out how to save his skin, while also placating his agent Victoria, who has arrived unannounced in the mistaken belief that Charlie actually looks like the author photo he provided.

The item arrived promptly and well packaged and exactly as described. It was actually better than described, as the condition of this second hand book was described as only "good" in the Seller's description, but when I received it, it was in fact in very good condition! I would definitely buy from this seller again and order more books at a fraction of the normal retail price. Definitely recommend them to others. Many thanks.

  • Great read. Genuinely entertaining. Good value for money.

I was looking for a Paris visitors guide when I cam across this book. It sounded like an interesting read and had an unusual plot so I bought it. The book is about an author who is also a theif and uses his own experiences to write his novels. In this book, he lets his ego get the better of him which starts a chain of uncontrollable events. It is well written and has so many twists in the plot that I couldn't put it down. I have just bought the other titles in the series - I hope they are as entertaining!
