Glad I didn't take any notice of some of the reviews by so called critics. This is one of the best versions I have seen. It was faultless.

Not the most polished production by some way but the voices are good and clear and the presentation entertaining. For the price it's very good value for your money.

Just a brilliant DVD Gilbert and Sullivan gave people who don't like Opera a chance to see it on a lighter side

Amazed at quality for price

While Sound & picture Quality are good on this 1982 recording, the overall presentation is reminiscent of a 1960's TV Studio Production. It lacks imagination and inspiration. The cast are good overall but William Conrad, in the title role, lacks lustre. A far more exciting show is by the Stratford Festival but the DVD costs considerably more - Clips from that offering may be seen on youtube and I recommend searching for "A More Humane Mikado" by that group.
