I was somewhat dissapointed with this book, there was little real background theory, just application of a variety of armatures to paintings throughout history. There was little mention of rabated rectangles, which is what I was particularly interested in and as far as I can tell from a quick read through the book, no mention of Hambridge who wrote a treatise on Dynamic Symmetry which underpins a lot of art and photography from Caravaggio to Henri Cartier-Bresson.
