Author Biography
Lester B. Howard, a native of Charlotte, NC, is the son of Ellie and Faye Howard. He graduated from Myers Park High School in 1987 and furthered his education at Cleveland Community College in Shelby NC, where he graduated in 1994 with high honors in Communications/Human Relations. In 1995, after an extensive bout with drugs and incarceration, Lester relocated to Greenville NC. He joined the Philippi Church of Christ and began working with the youth of his church in an afterschool program called The Lighthouse. Chasing a passion to change the lives of the youth, Lester pursued and obtained the position of youth director. In November of 1999, God gave him a greater vision to establish a movement of young leaders, and Faith In Fire Teen Ministries was born. Lester is an enlightening and introspective poet/writer, and published his first book entitled This Time; Rebirth of the Fire. Lester was Vice President/Public Relations head for Spoken Serenity, Inc. Spoken Serenity is a non-profit organization that uses spoken word, non-verbal communication, and fine arts to combat illiteracy among youth and to expand the minds of the community at large. Lester is currently a student at East Carolina Univeristy where he is pursuing a degree in Communications/Public Relations. Lester is dedicated to keeping the sanctity of poetry and the fine arts alive, while helping people to realize the purpose in their own lives.
