In many ways this CD is "scrapping the barrel" as there are no hits on board except ancient Classics such as "Apache","Atlantis",and "Wonderful Land",which ofcourse have been on many a Shadows compilation, previously. The remaining titles are a bit bland,to say the least, particually the Shads version of "Goodbye yellow Brick road","River deep Mountain High",and "Honky Tonk Woman".These remind me of the sort of stuff that is played whilst you are in a lift to the 23rd Floor in a Tower Block!. The First CD in this series "A String of hits" did actually contain some fairly recent Shadows hit singles such as "Theme from the Deerhunter","Dont Cry for me Argentina",and "Ghost Riders in the Sky", and is a pretty solid collection. But this has obviously been "Cobbled" together, and I would recommend anybody interested in buying Shadows "Best of" CD's to buy one of the many compilations of their 60's heyday, and their Second phase (70's)of which there are also plenty of options around. Needless to say, there hasn't been a Volume Three issued in this series to date(Yet!).Read full review
