I suppose any ' very best of' compilation is inevitably going to be a slightly subjective choice depending on who put it together. This is 80% there for me, and certainly a better choice than the other 'best of' Smiths compilation. The disappointment is the rather mixed quality of the remastering. The first two tracks , Panic and The Boy with.... both sound muddy and compressed. The higher you turn up the volume the more unpleasant it becomes. The rest of the cd is okay, but still not the best separation and space between vocal and instruments. Apart from all that it still reminds you want a driving force Jonny Marr was for both the lyrics and sound of the Smiths. Morrissey was and remains a secondary factor to Marr.

The album is brilliant, all my favourite songs are on there, but don't think the cd is in the best condition, it skips on a few tracks. I've cleaned the disc but still the same. I'd recommend this cd to any smiths fan

My CD stopped working after overplaying it. This was a bargain price for the best of CD of the best band there ever was.

I would recommend anyone to buy the cd, but this particular one plays on some cd players but jumps on a track when played in the car which is mainly what I purchased it for. I will just have to play it at home.
