As I live in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire where 90% of The Whistleblower was shot it's brilliant to see our lovely regency town on the big silver screen. Also, it's a very good film with plenty of twists & turns plotwise. I also had a small "extra" part in the film at Cheltenham's train station where I met Nigel Havers and Michael Caine. Nigel was very outgoing and easy to speak to, whereas Michael tended to stick to himself, but actors all have their own ways with dealing with their parts and filming. I've seen the film many times on the TV and still find the story interesting, so it was good to get a copy of it on DVD and watch when I like.
Disappointing acting from the three main characters, the show stopping ending was passé and predictable, this should have been produced for tv not movie. Episodes of ‘the professionals’ are more realistic and convincing.

I bought this because someone told me it was well worth watching and as the price was good I did. It seemed an "old" film, precise language in some people, not always very imaginative shots. I did get a little lost at times, but the story has some twists to it and I must say I didn't think it would end as it did. Well worth watching, but don't expect too much action and adventure. Secrecy and government dealings.
Tense thriller and entertaining with good location shots of Cheltenham (Glos, UK). The paranoic element could have been more emphasised as the story tends to die away towards the end. Still, excellent cast (stalwart British actors) with Michael Caine as good as ever with strong support from Nigel Havers.
