I bought this album without having heard Ms Gilmore, based upon a lot of good reviews. The style is very reminiscent of the folk-rock singer-songwriters of recent decades, particularly Joni Mitchell, or Mary Chapin Carpenter. The songs are good, her voice is good, but to be honest there's a feeling about it that it's all been done before. So it's not a bad album but unless her voice particularly connects with you, it's not essential and there are plenty of similar albums out there to choose from.
An excellent album, much better than the last. More on the style of Rules For Jokers and Avalanche. Good lyrics
