I know some people who think LINE AND DANGEROUS was quite early for Thin Lizzy but this compiles them from the early seventies. It it clear to hear on this CD the influences of blues and folk, as on tracks such as Whiskey in the Jar and Broken Dreams. There is one track that is basically a pleasant folk waltz, which just illustrates what a wide range of material they have performed. Return of the Farmer's Son is great and it contains one of their unbelievably corny but somehow catchy one-note -well almost- riffs, as used later in songs such as Emerald.
As a fan of Thin Lizzy since '76, having, what I thought was all of the UK LPs of this band in my collection I refrained from purchasing any of the Compilation albums as I owned the originals anyway. How surprised was I to find two new songs on this album which I had never heard from the UK albums before. Plus it was a blessing to hear the earlier Lizzy tracks in digital format as well, rather than the crackly LP versions. I would recommend anyone who took pleasure in the early Lynott creations before the '76 outbreak from Jail.
Heard Whisky in the jar by Thin Lizzy at the pub , and just had to have it.May be old but still great to listen to .
