I watched the film Angela's Ashes first, then read the book. I read the bio on Frank McCourt and it said he greatly exaggerated his dreadful childhood but it was all true. Personally speaking I have no idea how anyone survived conditions like he described. I followed this book up with Tis, again very good but opened ones eyes how he managed to pass his exams, but the way he describes the Marking of Exams it looks as if everyone got a Pass whether they were good or not. I have bought his next book, Teacher and I am half way through this.

Follow up to Angela's Ashes continuing the story of Frank McCourt's life and his career as a teacher. I found it very entertaining and have now ordered the final book in this trilogy. I like his style of writing as well as the content.
