I did the first training with TomTom Runner (not version 2), on bike and with old already buggy after 3 years Gssport GB-580P (same as Timex Cycle Trainer 2.0 GPS). I found that pulse on both rather similar (0-3 BPM), with the exception of gaps when old device displays higher pulse due to its glitches. I made several accelerations followed up by stopping and found that pulse on TomTom reaches maximum in 10 seconds after stopping. Similar, its increase delayed about 5 second after start of accelartion, I think it is not big problem even for sprints, as you get max pulse anyway. There is a lack: display interface. Two higher fields are (somewhat) small and main field are somewhat large, I guess in race this can be a problem. You can't customize this for 2, 4 or 5 fields on display, as can in Gssport GB-580P. Strap on watches is slighly large, I fit it on 3rd from start holes, with about 30 holes at all, For woman's hand it can be a problem, but I guess you can fit it closer to elbow. Also it measures number of strides per minute. "It calculates strides using the accelerometer, approximating stride count with arm swings, since people naturally swing their arms in time with their legs. How accurate it is will depend on your running style and efficiency. " (с) So far biggest issue is display: almost total inability to change and customize metrics, e.g., if you need more than one "big metric" (biggest number at the display) you must scroll through set of them. They appear only in a particular order, e.g. to change from pulse to average pace you need scroll through calories. After a month of use: main shortcoming - interface & control. Maybe you could wish more options for training also, like sophisticated intervals. Otherwise I recommend this: good gps, good sync with endomondo and similar services (just insert USB-cable in watch), good HR.Read full review

If you get this for around £80 then you've got the perfect training partner.... connected to the app it gives everything you'll need. The GPS is really accurate.. the heart rate monitor is the part that makes this Tomtom shine, as it is built in on your wrist unlike those horrible belts that aren't accurate and have to be washed every time... the tomtom is also water resistant so it can be washed whenever the occasion is needed. Nice and easy navigation joystick with simple to read display, has a backlight too. I'm wearing my watch everyday as it makes a nice time piece too, and have had many people saying it has better features then their much more expensive ones. Can't recommend it enough.

There are many cardio watches out there which are more expensive and do more, but this particular watch does everything I want a watch to. It has so far proved very reliable at picking up a GPS signal and the TomTom app is great. I've also linked it up to my Strava. The refurb price was very good and it's just like new so I would highly recommend for this price.

Amazing item, does exactly what I need it for. Even tested it out on a Spartan Obstacle Course race, it was completely submerged in mud but still did the job. After a quick wash and clean it was as good as new! Great value for money and in immaculate condition despite it being a factory refurbished item.
