I offer for auction my Townshend Audio Seismic Stand.  It's a very rare and unique item offered in excellent condition apart from a few small 'nicks'.

 

Specs:

Width 440mm / Height / Shelf 1 200mm / shelf 2 160mm / shelf 3 110mm. Total height approx: 670mm

There's a little adjustment in the top shelf height depending on how much you fill the system.

 

Tech Info:

Ground born vibration is the enemy of high fidelity reproduction! Vibration is generated by traffic, machinery, water, gas and sewerage pumps, compressors, earth works, discos, trains . . . and of course, your audio system. These vibrations (5 to 550Hz) which may have traveled as far as 10km, cause the reproduced sound to be “closed in”, hard, grainy, flat and edgy, with the effect being far more marked with the latest generation of ultra high resolution digital sources and amplifiers. The only practical way to isolate these vibrations is with the Townshend Audio Seismic Sink range of air-bladder isolation equipment supports. When the whole audio system, including the loudspeakers, is isolated from these vibrations by suspending on air isolation platforms, the sound is simply transformed. The music becomes detailed, integrated, smooth, fast, relaxed and enjoyable.

The New Seismic Sink Stand, replaces the AV and Classic Seismic Sink Stand. It incorporates two interconnected air pillow load cells, one at the top and one at the bottom, arranged to make the whole unit incredibly stable whilst still maintaining vibration isolation from 2Hz up. The Stand requires no adjustment or setting up. It is unaffected by out of balance loads such as off-to–the-side transformers, the pull of heavy cabling or the position of the equipment on the shelf. Further, the New Seismic Sink Stand takes twice the load of its predecessors. Re-inflation, once or twice a year, is by hand pump or, to special order, by fully automatic electric air pump.

 

 

The Townshend Audio Seismic Sink Stand is an equipment rack system designed to isolate all Hi-Fi Audio and Video components from ground born vibration. The concept for the Stand derived from that of the original, multiple award winning, Seismic Sink Stand introduced in 1997. This radical product re-wrote the rules on equipment support, which had always insisted on rigid coupling to the floor to ‘drain away unwanted energy’. The superior performance of the spring suspended Seismic Sink Stand, compared with all rigid designs, showed the hi-fi world how absolutely vital it is to thoroughly isolate all source components from ground-borne vibration.

The Seismic Sink Stand, with its beautiful lines and elegant simplicity, sets a new level of performance, style and practicality. Of minimalist design with the shelf supporting pillars closely spaced at the sides and the suspension mechanism at the bottom. The Seismic Sink Stand allows the equipment to be seen un-obstructed by big bulky pillars common to other designs. Designed to be 100% maintenance-free and manufactured to the highest standards, the Seismic Sink Stand is engineered to last a lifetime.

The ingenious arrangement of uprights and plates, with most compliant load cells at each corner, in conjunction with the mass of the stand (plus equipment), form a stable suspended mass/spring low-pass filter with an attenuation of about 20dB per decade above 2Hz. This ensures that deleterious ground-borne vibrations from 4Hz and above are virtually eliminated. Isolating audio/video components from vibration increases fidelity and imparts an openness and clarity to the sound, with gains in focus and solidity of image, which a non-suspended stand simply cannot approach.
