I wouldn't have considered this set for full price as I was in the market for a headset costing more like £40-50, however I was happy to stretch to a little higher to grab these cans at a super discount for being refurbished. They've seen enough use to have sustained a fair bit of scratching on the ear cups but are basically as new elsewhere so I'm led to believe they must be fairly rugged - always a good indicator of quality. I've owned one other set of turtle beach headphones before and loves them, only upgrading because the chat function didn't carry over to my Xbox one. The 800x work a treat though. They're definitely bass heavy, but not much more than average for gaming headphones, besides the amount of EQ presets available makes up for it if you feel like dialling back the low end a touch. Chat clarity is EXCELLENT. I can both hear others with more clarity and have tried with a number of friends who've stated that my voice is much clearer, so evidently the lack of boom mic hasn't detracted from the ability to pick up clear voice. I also love the app - easy to use and gives bags of tweakability for all different volumes, not to mention the fact that I can Bluetooth connect to my phone whilst shooting rebel scum on Battlefront is an extremely welcome feature. I would say the only downside is the price, considering the chat function only works on XBO, not PS4 or PC, but like I said, if you can pick these up for a price tag under £100 they will absolutely not disappoint.Read full review

The audio settings on this headset are amazing. The sound quality is clear, the volume controls are easy to use and the battery life is great. However, the built in mic is absolutely atrocious. Turtle Beach have a software update that supposedly makes it better, but even after installing it, my friends still comment on how terrible the microphone is. If you are a casual gamer who only plays solo/doesn't use party chat, then this headset will work perfectly for you. If not, then avoid it like the plague and get something with a higher quality boom mic.

Unbelievable features!!! Do not need anything else. Just to sum it up, you can take a phone call whilst gaming without any loss of sound. The game sounds dim a little and you take the call.

Easily the best headsetbon have ever used. They are Bluetooth connected to just about everything in my house and they seamlessly move from one thing to another without me needing to worry about it. The noise cancelling is excellent.

Literally the greatest game headphones I’ve ever used! The sound quality, the noise cancelling all amazing. The fact you can change what sort of sound you want as well is great. You can have movies, sports, action games, shooter games and have foot step focus is amazing. Here come the bad part. They drop off once every few hours of playing. Also after about 2 weeks of owning them they started making this awful high pitched crackle! On further investigation a few other people say that it’s because the base station is too close to the tv or Wi-fi. I’ve move it and still occurs. I then changed the optic cable and seems to have stopped but all the comments I’ve read since have said that no matter whether there headset was a day old or a few years old this happened to them. Not saying it happens to all of them but a bit irritating when you spend so much on themRead full review
