Lens caps have a propensity to get lost while you are outside. Why not use a "cap keeper" thread? Well - I find the lens cap swings into view at the crucial moment. So I prefer to carry inexpensive "spares" in my bag to protect precious lenses. These are key spares for Panasonic Lumix lenses - which have several with the unusual 46mm filter size: example the the low cost "amateur" version of the 25mm, the 14-42mm mark 2 and the low cost "amateur" version of the 35-100mm. These are tiny lenses and together make up a fabulous lightweight small size camera kit for travel. The shared 46mm filter size means you will need to search for this less common size of filters, lens caps, etc.... This brand of cap has excellent "locking" to the lens with a low chance of getting knocked off, and big finger grips - which means it can be can be used with gloves worn. At a fraction of the price of the original brand lens caps - I buy these as my spares. They work just as well as Lumix ones in my experience. Read full review

A good quality well made lens cap. The cap can be used in the usual way by gripping the edges and squeezing and there are deep indentations on the edge so your grip is secure. Additionally, the cap can be used by centre pinch, this is useful if you have a lens hood fitted and the edges are no accessible. I have many of these caps and they are very durable, i have not had one failure yet. They are easily as good quality as OEM manufacturer's items such as Canon and Nikon.
