Well as smart phones go I suppose the Blackberry 8700 is probably one of the basic intro level phones, on the good side it is very easy to operate, and if you like to do a lot of texting the "qwerty" keyboard is very fast to use, there is no voice recognition, no camera, no MP3 player (well there is but no memory to put any tunes, in fact it doesn't do a great deal other than make phone calls, text and have an Internet connection, as I said Basic. The only other thing I don't like about the phone is the track-wheel on the side that you have to use to access the menu's etc. They do tend to break and of course you cant get them repaired, because it would cost you more than the phone is worth. My conclusion is that although it works OK, it would be better to purchase a better model Blackberry phone. I only purchased it because I had one already that had broken so I had plenty of spares, plus it was cheap.Read full review
if your looking for a reliable phone that keeps you in touch look no further. it may not have the latest touch screen tech but...the list of what it does do more than makes up for it. Blackberry messenger, internet browsing, you can set it up to receive your e mail, and a great battery life. I have had lg touch screen phones in the past but this phone is by far superior in its capability.. and at bargain prices is well worth the look, highly recommended
It's a nice basic blackberry. Easy to use and great as a back up phone. It doesn't have a camera but has all the basic features and Internet. It's a little chunkier than the newer blackberrys but still nice looking.
The phone was good to use, after initial problems...it wouldn't register my sim card for a wile but after that it was okay :) Unfortunately it didn't have a camera nor was internet accessible. I wasn't too fussed about the camera but didn't realise that there were blackberry's made without internet connection O.o Everything else was fine :)
I purchased this phone, because my old pay as you go vodfone was reaching the end of its life and I needed a replacement. Preferably one that would enable me to communicate on the move using my existing AOL email address. The phone was very reasonably priced and came with a new battery. I have had it now for a month and have found it to be excellent. Although there is no camera (it wasn't something I wanted) it has the possability of running many apps that are freely available. The Blackberry 8700 is very stylish (looks similar to new models) has a great screen and keypad. I highly recommend this phone to purchase instead of paying 8 times as much for a similar new phone.
