I love the fact that you can pick these easy to use camera's for a bargain price. They are simple and easy to use and not comlicated. I bought this for my daughter as she is always trying to use mine and to be honest she can take a pritty good photograph for a six year old. The only negative I have for this digital camera is that you will have to buy seperate rechargeable batteries as you can not charge direct from the unit itself. Get over this and you won't be disapointed. I have bought her a camera from a popular high street store and in comparison this pink gimicky camera was not very good. It had a built in memory which could only handle 50 photo's. The Vivitar ViviCam 3105s has a seperate memory card which is better for kids because they can take as many as a 4GB can handle. Give one a try as a first camera you cant go wrong. Thanks for reading this reciew.Read full review
nice easy to use camera that fits in a pocket, easy on batteries
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: New
Yes I know the Vivitar ViviCam 3105s is cheap, but this can not be used as an excuse to justify the appalling overall quality of the camera! It is constructed of very cheap flimsy plastic and there appears to be a common fault with the little flap that covers the USB port, (the little usb cover is so poorly designed it just simply doesn't fit and remains dangling off the camera at all times)! For A small basic camera the menu is unnecessarily fiddly and the picture quality should be an embarrassment to Vivitar, with close up mode a complete waste of time! I believe this camera was marketed toward the child-teenager age group but in my opinion I think it should have been marketed as a play thing for 3 - 4 year olds as it is constructed to a Christmas cracker standard! If you are purchasing for an older child don't be at all surprised by their look of disappointment when they realise that this camera is total poop compared to the built in cameras they have on their mobile phones! If you are looking to purchase this model off ebay as we did it may be worth questioning why there are so many listed as only used once etc! (it's probably because they realise that the camera is rubbish and want to shift it on quickly as possible)! Yes, I'm aware there are people out there who enjoy this product but I personally believe you can get more for your money elsewhere!Read full review
Vivitar digital cameras are lightweight, compact and easy to use, resolution is superb and they can be bought on Ebay for silly prices if you're prepared to be patient ! Like a lot of modern day digital cameras Vivitar have their own niche in the market place, you love em, you're not so keen on them or aspire to another brand but generally THEY WORK OK they serve the PURPOSE they're intended for and longevity is acceptable by todays standards, of course as always the resolution ie number of pixels continues to increase so it depends on whether you want a camera that gives overall good quality pics or want that little bit more detail, to me being a keen photographer and having used professional top end equipment I can tell you that with the little camera tucked in my pocket its number of pixels may be less but it can sometimes capture on the spur of the moment what my professional equipment can't ! given the time to set up the pro equipment et also do you want poster size pics or normal 6 x 9 pics ? or just images on your photo Cd to show to friends and family ? Spending more on more pixels isnt always necessarily an advantage 3 - 5 Mega pixels in my opinion for general light use is more than adequate, most software especially the new windows 7 et works fine re images from your camera ? The only time it makes sense to go to something a little more in the way of 5 Mega pixels plus is if the PRICE is right and Ebay gives you that opportunity BUT remember !! the more sophisticated the camera the more features and other time consuming set ups ? ! As said earlier my Vivitar in the pocket INSTANT digital camera can capture moments off the cuff I probably wouldn't have got had I been grabbing for a camera, tripod and et ! In conclusion Decide what you want it for, WATCH and be PATIENT re Ebay and set yourself a target that is REALISTIC re price, check the NEW prices if you can or compare other prices including watching to see what the items you are after within the same RANGE and SPEC i.e digital cameras 3 to 5 Mega Pixels go for ! that way you'll know if the starting price is too high or the bids get higher than average prices paid ! which happens !! you don't want to be cursing at buying something for more than the similar item an hour or so later SOLD for FAR less in price !Read full review
This is quite a pretty little camera (mine's silver, not pink!) but it's very disappointing. It's very lightweight to the point of flimsiness. As other reviewers have reported close-up pictures aren't too bad but distance shots are very poor quality. My main complaint, however, is with the ridiculously short battery life. When I received the camera I inserted 2 new batteries fresh out of their cellophane packet, switched on - and the new batteries were exhausted before I even finished going through the set-up options. I put in 2 more - and managed to take 2, yes TWO, photos before the batteries were finished again. This may be a very cheap camera but the cost of replacing the batteries every few photos will soon make it a very expensive one! I'd strongly advise everyone to avoid this model of Vivitar. I had intended this as a present for a young friend but having found it so unsatisfactory I'll have to find him another.Read full review
