Ordering & Payments
You can place your order safely and simply on-line through our website www.stuartmobility.co.uk or by contacting us, either over the phone or in person at our showroom in Burton upon Trent. Payment can be made:-
o Using all major credit and debit cards with the PayPal Secure Payment System in store and over the phone and using secure payments through our website powered by Stripe.
o Cash and cheques are also taken at the showroom.
o All orders are processed by either Director who are both fully compliant with both Data Protection and Computer Misuse Acts.
o We currently do not take orders from outside mainland UK.
o All personal information gathered is for the sole purpose of processing customer orders and is not passed to any other party.
o Please note that no products will be dispatched until paid for in full (including any postage).
VAT Exemption
Individuals who are chronically sick or disabled and whose products are for personal use, along with charities where the products are made available to a disabled person for their own personal or domestic use, may be eligible for VAT exemption.
The majority of Stuart Mobility prices include delivery charges but do not include VAT (unless otherwise clearly stated). To qualify for VAT exemption you must ensure the VAT Exempt checkboxes are ticked, state the precise medical condition, and meet the criteria at the time you place your order. Assuming you meet these criteria, VAT will not be added unless a particular product has compulsory VAT. Orders which are received without ticked exemption will incur the VAT charge, which will be highlighted clearly to you through our shopping calculator. Completed VAT Exemption Declarations by customers are accepted as prima facie evidence by the Company that a valid medical condition exists for exemption under The VAT Act, and no VAT will be charged on the goods purchased.
If, at a later date, HMRC disputes the validity of the medical condition, you will be liable to pay the appropriate VAT that should have been applied.
Under these circumstances, Stuart Mobility reserves the right to demand that you pay the VAT amount that is due.
Delivery
All of our new products are delivered to your home and set up in a downstairs room of your choice. Your item will be unpacked and all packaging will be removed and taken away. Your item will be demonstrated to you and you will be asked to inspect your item before we leave to make sure you are happy with your purchase and know how to use it and look after it.
This service is provided free of charge and is included in your price. Standard delivery normally takes between 7 and 10 business days.
An Express Delivery is available on certain new chairs for those people who need one quickly. This service means the chair can be in your home within 5 business days (dependant on manufacturer supplies). The cost of this service is £60.
This gives you piece of mind that your item is set up where you need it and most importantly you know how to use it.
We sometimes use a third party agent to carry out this service.
Pre-owned chairs:
The same applies as above and this service is free locally but nationally there is an extra charge after the first 50 miles from our retail premises.
Returns & Exchanges

At Stuart Mobility we pride ourselves on the quality of our products and we hope customers are happy with their purchases but from time to time customers may need to return goods they have bought.
Sales from our showroom
All items purchased from our showroom premises are not entitled to a refund unless found to be faulty, not as described or fit for purpose. If this is the case then a full refund will be given within 30 days, following the process detailed below.
Distance Selling – items purchased over the internet and phone
Stuart Mobility offers a 14 day (calendar) cooling off period after you have received the goods. This allows you, the consumer, to inspect the product (s) and check the suitability. If for any reason you would like to return any goods to us please notify us within fourteen calendar days in writing either by email to sales@stuartmobility.co.uk or by post to our head office at the address below:

It is your responsibility to return the goods to us in a safe and proper manner and at your cost within 14 days after you have notified us.
We recommend that you use a service that requires a signature upon delivery.
If you would like us to arrange collection of the goods, please let us know, but this will incur costs depending on the item.
Alternatively you can return the goods to our shop premises during normal opening times.
We inspect all returned goods and provided that they are found to be complete, unused, not damaged and in the original packaging we will provide a full refund less original delivery charges.
Naturally, if the goods were faulty, not as described, or fit for purpose then Stuart Mobility Limited will bear the delivery and return costs.
Please note that we are unable to exchange or refund certain items i.e. anything specially made or customised e.g. made to measure Rise and Recline Chair or Power Chair; any used products that represent a hygiene risk such as used toilet seats, commodes, bottom wipers or bath lifts etc. (unless of course they were found to be faulty upon delivery).
If products are not returned in their original condition on return, Stuart Mobility Limited reserves the right to charge for repair or replacement of any product(s). This charge may include the cost of parts, materials, labour and any subsequent loss to Stuart Mobility Limited. In all instances a Returns form with original invoice number will need to accompany the goods. Failure to do so will result in your returned goods not being traceable.
All refunds will be processed within 14 days following receipt of goods
Guarantee, Warranties and Insurance
At Stuart Mobility we pride ourselves on the quality of our products and we hope customers are happy with their purchases. All of our new products come with a minimum 12 months manufacturer’s guarantee. Please see our Warranty policy for more details.
Extras
We offer various extended warranties and insurance cover through Mark Bates Ltd and Staingard.
