I have an Arcam alpha 9 amplifier that is around 25 yrs old and cost £500 when bought and was showing signs of age by emiting the occasional "crackle" sound when dials or buttons were turned / pressed. Seeking advice vie the interwebthingy , I learnt that a good contact cleaner might save me the expense of an engineers services or a new amp (probably around £800 to £1000 to keep the same sound quality ). I purchased this WD40 contact cleaner after seeing favourable reviews and knowing of the solid WD40 reputation and I was not disappointed . I removed the casing from the amp and sprayed the offending bits of the amp and repeatedly pressed/turned the knobs and dials for a few moments as this has a cleaning effect . I reassembled the amp and tested it out and .........Voila ! all fixed , no more crackles . For the cost of a coffee and doughnut and a little effort, I have saved myself a considerable amount of money , I have no hesitation in recommending this product , it's a bargain .Read full review

I used this to deal with a very noisy volume control of my hi-fi amplifier (ear-splitting cracks and crackles on changing the setting). A professional charged me £70 to clean it and it was a bad as ever after a week. Spraying along the spindle of the control and rotating it back and forth for about 5 minutes cleared the problem without recurrence. The fluid is so penetrating that it was unnecessary to gain access to the interior of the amplifier, the fluid simply seeped inside of the the volume control along the spindle.

After spilling tea all over my £2000 gaming laptop, It seems I completely destroyed it. I made several attempts at saving it, and even spoke to professionals about it but apparently it couldn't be saved. A friend recommended to take it apart and spray this stuff on all the components and let them dry for a couple of days, which I did. After putting it together and pressing the power button......MY LAPTOP CAME BACK FROM THE DEAD!!!! I'm convinced that this stuff is miraculous. %100 recommend
