heart warming film about two woman whom are both different, and have different lives, they meet and become best friends, one a free spirt and one a married woman who longs for her husbands baby, he inturn makes a baby with her best friend, her best friend has no idea her one night stand was her friends husband. brill film, a girly night in.
Generally a good film, its heart-warming and sweet. however i did find that some bits were a bit boring. Helena bonham carter makes this film and plays a really good part in it. good acting from all the cast. the only problem is that it doesnt have subtitles.
Definitely a hidden gem - not a well publicised or hit film by any standards, yet this wittily scripted and superbly shot film catapults the theme of friendship into life against the charming back-drop of Edinburgh. Bonham-Carter stands out in a paradigmatically eccentric role to which she brings real depth and vivacity. Impressive performances also from James Purefoy and Gina McKee, with enjoyable support from Eileen Atkins. A must for anyone looking for a feel-good film without the superficiality and predictability of many blockbusting rom-coms.
