A good fun game. My kids aged 8 to 11, boys and girls, have spent hours on it. There are drawbacks. It takes about 45 minutes after starting a town the first time until you can save; you can only save three "towns" at a time, so if more than three want to play, you have to share; the further we went on, the slower the game went - I think it had to load more stuff from disk; building things can be a little frustrating as sometimes it's hard to get things to slot in correctly; and there is little more challenge as you get further into the game so it can get a little samey. But one son with ADHD has spent a total of 10 hours on it, so it must be pretty good!
Brilliant thanks

I suspect like others I bought this simply as a Sims-on-the-Wii impulse. If you're picturing the game you know upgraded to motion control, prepare for a let down. It is aimed at (probably simple) children, and has become a block-building and painting game. You wander around being annoyed by other characters who want you to make things for them. So you do. Then it just keeps happening. The designers have basically simplified the game to the point of absurdity. Now, the original game was all about the absurdity of a game about banality, don't get me wrong. But this? This is just sad.
This is a good game for younger children to play with the Sims characters. They can build a house and then build all sorts of items for their home and for other Wii characters. Good as you can save your progress as well. You can safely leave your child to play this game - unlike some of the older Sims games.
Great fun for kids and big kids alike. Takes a bit of getting into but once you get set up you soon start to really enjoy it. You can save the game so you pick up where you left off. Biggest hit of the Christmas pressies!! My 6 year old son loves it!
