GREAT WELD SET - OUTSTANDING VALUE, first time use of a DC welder, easy to set up, good results. Used in conjunction with Hobbyweld 5% Argon/CO2 mix to build a chassis for a DIY caravan, better weld quality compared to CO2. Gas set to 10/12 lpm. Wire feed is smooth, spatter is easy to scrape off shroud. Gets warm on higher power settings and thermal trip operates - good excuse to stop for a coffee. Did most of the welding on power setting 4 and didn't trip once. I wired my set via a 32 amp extension lead to a 32 amp socket in my shed - no sense putting a weld set on a 13 amp plug because the fuse will get hot at higher powers and extended use.

This is a lightweight mig/mag welding machine, ideal for DIY welding jobs on material up to 5 / 6 mm thick. The fact that it has a fan cooling the machine gives it a better duty cycle compared to sets that do not have a cooling fan. I am using it with .6mm wire because I find it give better penetration. If I am working on larger jobs I would use a set designed for bigger amps. over a longer period but the little wolf is great for those smaller jobs.

Brought this to do some welding on the chassis of my land rover. It was easy to set up and use. Having very little welding experience and never used a mig welder befor i found it very good to use even in tight spaces under the discovery was much easier to use then my old arc welder. Overall im very happy with it and have now started building a roof rack for the discovery again using this machine. If i had to pick a fault it would be the mask that comes with the set. Its useless in all honesty. I brought an auto dimming jobby for around £20 of here was worth every penny. But i carnt pick fault with the machine itself.

Being used to using professional welders, this one is very good for the price. I have only used it on the no gas at the moment, but it runs very smooth and welds well as long as you don't want to go too thick. Would definitely recommend this welder.

Very quick delivery. A good welder for hobby-type jobs. I find the lower power settings are too low to be of much use. The wire brush and mask aren't worth bothering with - very insubstantial, more of a gimmick than for proper use. Overall though, it's a good price for a good tool.
