The 'kit' arrived promptly and included contained all the bits. The pcb was easy to assemble. And it works. So I'm fairly happy. The instructions could have been better and it needed some bodgery to get the pcb into its box. The functionality is not as good as it could be in some respects. The most important (to me) are: 1. The sin and triangle wave outputs are on top of a dc pedestal at half the supply voltage. 2. It (my unit anyway) doesn't work well off a 12V supply - about 11.5V is the maximum for stable operation. I can work round these problems so, overall, I am not dis-satisfied with my purchase.

The instructions are a poor translation from what I guess is Chinese. One tip: double check you have the electrolytic capacitors the correct way round. And then double check again. And then check one more time. I used a continuity checker on a multimeter using the circuit diagram. Other than that step which needs quiet concentration, it went together well, except I found that the 4 screws holding the board to the base were not long enough. But great value and a bit of fun (nostalgia) building it.

Very pleased with this one. Previously bought the cheaper type (2 chips) from a different supplier and got relatively poor performance - too much harmonic, really audible, and the output was not uniform across frequencies. THIS one, XR2206 gives really level output, quite low impedance, with acceptable sinewave harmonic around one percent. So, go for this single-chip kit. Mine works well on 9V, 15 mA. Chinese instructions are hysterical! But I got soldered up in about an hour. Needs good light and perhaps a magnifier! Created a useful workshop audio generator (see photo) bringing out replacement level and frequency pots to a panel and a dial, and fitting a bandswitch instead of the fiddly plug change. Also DC-blocker cap added to sine out. Mine's in a biscuit tin... and it needs a better drawn dial, I know, I know.Read full review
