I have several Yamaha PSR series keyboards. This PSR EW400 is by far my favorite. It has 76 keys which provide a much better playing range over 61 keys. I love its grand piano sound. It has an overwhelming number of instruments built into it that are fun to use. For learning, there is no match to this keyboard as it has many built-in songs to learn and features that will improve your playing skills. The PSR EW400 is not the least expensive model in the PSR line-up, but it is worth the extra money.

The Yamaha psr-ew400 produces a poor sound on external speakers. For the price and the fact that it is an updated version to the YPG-235 I was expecting a much better sound quality. When connected to an amplifier, it sounded like a cheap piano. The sound was actually a little annoying, unpleasant to the ear. It did not sound full and strong like the YPG-235, the older version. I decide to repurchase the YPG-235 and returned the psr-ew400. I liked the ability to connect a usb thumb drive. That was an improvement for storing your compositions. It has some other (few) added features not really necessary in my opinion. So, what kills this piano is the sound quality on external speakers.

Love this keyboard!!! Sounds great! Feels like a quality instrument. Having a lot of fun with it. The bundle worked great for me. I am enjoying all the pieces. I am learning what it does more by watching the videos on youtube, as the manual I find hard to understand, complicated. But I think I will read it again after I play with it a while. All in all, a great value.

After months listening to this model in stores I bought one , however wired live it does not have the same sweet sound , am a little disappointed about this issue . Try it out wired to an amp or PA before purchasing one . It does offer lots of great sounds and options for home use .

Pro's- User friendly Great sounding unit. Good enough to Gig with if you're running an amp from it. Light weight. very portable 76 keys which gives you much better playing experience. Not limited like a 61 key keyboard. If you like to hit bass notes and still have the high end to tap on it will do it. Saves you from using the transposer to jump down an octave just to hit a low note. Cons- Haven't had it long enough to find out what I don't like about it.
