I bought the Dyson DC07 vacuum cleaner as my old Dyson DC07 had recently broken. My original Dyson was given to me by a friend and despite having had various different brands and makes of vacuum cleaners in the past, I found the Dyson to be a very good all-rounder. It picks up extremely well and having two dogs it is important that my cleaner hoovers up their fur, which this machine does more than adequately. It is easy to clean/empty out the hoovered up contents and is not too heavy to push. The only downside of this machine is that it is quite heavy to carry up and down stairs and the extendable lead for hoovering stairs is not that easy to use and I therefore own a small cylinder hoover for that job. It picks up well on carpets, rugs and lino .... if there are 'bits' on the floor the Dyson will suck them up! I am happy with this cleaner and would certainly buy another.Read full review
My first DC07 has lasted me 12 years and needed a new motor, the brushes worn. I have been impressed enough with it to purchase another. It has a long hose length for reaching into difficult places, and a good suction. I like the fact is works as well on tiled floors as on carpets and had it not been for the horrible plastics would have had 5/5. The plastic are becoming more brittle, the sole plate wears after a while on hard surfaces i.e. quarry tiles floors. The little rollers fall out of it and the sole plate will need replacing at some point. I don't like that the slider on the handle at the top can catch on belt buckles and on my old one snapped, this was not an easy thing to fix. The washable filters are great and the emptying bin also, because I am allergic to dust so I don't need to get too close when emptying that is brilliant. It is noisy and quite heavy not really suitable for an older person who isn't fit and strong. But in all it is a good choice.Read full review
There is no disputing the performance quality of this Dyson vacuum. It's great on any surface and doesn't lose suction. A couple of bad points. It's a bit awkward to detach the hose for edges etc and the suction is so great that if you're doing the stairs the hose is taut and difficult to manoeuvre. One other bad point is that the suction is so great that it can make the vacuum quite heavy. These two minor points aside, the cleanliness you achieve from using a Dyson really is second to none. I'm very pleased with mine and wish I had converted earlier.
My family have had Dysons since forever, but after moving out of home I just couldn't afford the full price of the newest models. I previously convinced my landlady to buy a refurbished DC01 from ebay and was supremely happy with it for the 2 years that I lived in that flat. I have now moved to a place of my own, and the first thing I did was go looking for a new Dyson. I chose this one purely on the colour scheme! (grey and blue) as I have never been disappointed with a Dyson. This is a new build, and although my cream carpets looked clean, the amount of builder's dust the Dyson picked up on it's first outing was phenomenal! The evolution of the Dyson upright is obvious, the cable hook now spins, the handle on the hose is very handy, and the accessories storage is genius. It is slightly heavier than the DC01, but I just bend my knees and treat it as an upper body workout! I wouldn't buy anything other than a Dyson, and being quite tall I would never buy anything but an upright. This product may be getting on a bit since it was first released, but in my opinion, it is still streets ahead of any other vaccuum (bagless or not) out there. Please, please make sure you buy a refurbished unit with workman's guarantee. They're great vacuums, but the motor doesn't last forever.Read full review
Our old Dyson had given faithfull service for 10 years and although still working was looking a bit battered and needed replacing before it shed any more of it's casing parts. A new Dyson was therefore the obvious choice but prices were way out of reach - what then would a refurbished model be like? In cost terms it was found that the refurb Dyson was the equivalent of a copycat design new Dax or "supermarket special" We chose the Dyson based on our previous good experience with the marque, over a cheap imitation and have not been disapointed - the cleaner was delivered with an as new apearance with all the less durable items such as flex, drivebelt, seals and filters etc. replaced. It performed fautlessly and has a noticably improved performance over the previous model,it even emits a pleasant odour when running. The latch type dust disposal is also a very good design improvement and the 6 months warranty is reassuring. The only thing to criticise is that my better half says that this cleaner is noisier than the old one - I haven't noticed to be honest but then I'm not the main user - (or even a user at all, I've just been told) So if your budget won't stretch to a new model Dyson, do consider the refurbished or repaired option as a viable alternative from the several reputable e-bay traders offering these cleaners. The price saving on new is approximatly 70% incidentally.Read full review
