I have had a Seiko kinetic watch for more than twenty years. About ten years in it stopped and I took it to a repairer who replaced the capacitor. Some ten years later it stopped again. So after watching a useful You tube tutorial I ordered this product and replaced the capacitor myself with total success. A bit fiddly but otherwise not complicated. Also you will need to acquire a cheap set of watch repair tools (around £5) to open the the rear of the case easily and unscrew the tiny parts with tiny screwdrivers. The cost to me was £20 as against a quote of £60 to have it done professionally.

the best part - shaking the watch for 1/2 mins, then wearing for about 2 hours and finding charge indicator hand showed half minute (many weeks power?), after another week tested again and found charge hadnt dropped by much - so good product and does job. the worst part?the tiny screws holding the bits in place- I have tiny screwdrivers but if you slip , often the screw shoots away, take care they are tiny and dont over tighten them back up, just a nip.. FYI taking the watch back off is straightforward, fit the remover you have and turn steady with pressure on, suggest you dont snatch at it, its not a monkey wrench

My Seiko Kinetic is holding charge and running fine after I fitted this new "battery" and a back cover gasket. Even including the cost of a watch repair toolkit, the total was much less than sending to the manufacturer or a jeweller or watchmaker. However, be warned, the battery fixing screws are smaller than a pinhead, so extremely fiddly to handle and refix even with the tools, and having viewed demonstration videos on YouTube.

This is a very easy product to fit if you have the right tools , takes around 20 minutes but the screws are tiny you can find videos online to assist you.

The price for having this capacitor changed at the service centre is about a hundred pounds, if like me you have had the watch for a number of years it is not really a cost effective solution. I followed the instructions on youtube which are quite extensive, you do need some very small jewellers screwdrivers and a case opening tool all which can be purchased for a couple of pounds on EBAY. It took fifteen minutes from start to finish and I now have a watch that shows a full charge even after a week of not being worn. The watch has been worn out in the rain and the new gasket appears to be doing its job. If you cannot do this yourself why not purchase the capacitor and take it to your local watch repair shop I bet it will still be cheaper.
