A sound basic knowledge of electrical circuitry and some basic electrical skills are required to use this controller. Mounted mine in a project box and connected it to a couple of 13A sockets in the top of the box. It now controls the temperature inside my brewing fridge. This is basically the action of the fridge for cooling and a 60W bar heater inside the fridge for heating allowing accurate control from 5 - 30 centigrade to 0.5 degrees. Adequate features, simple to program, clear instructions provided. This is a cheap, effective solution for temperature control in diy projects.

Very compact (85*75*35 deep), easy to read display and controls easy to use, temperature control seems very precise once it has been calibrated. Only problem I had was with initial wiring up but a web browse gave me the answer, obvious afterwards, as always. Just had it a week so cannot comment on its durability. I use mine to regulate my home brew ferment temperature, perfect for the job and thoroughly recommended.

For the price this is amazing. I had the sockets, plug, wiring and project box to hand so was able to convert the fridge to a fermentation chamber for the homebrew for less than a tenner. Once wired up you need to calibrate the sensor using an accurate thermometer. Then you set the temperature and if it drops to 1C below the heating circuit comes on and stays on until the set temperature is reached. If it gets 1C too high then the fridge comes on until it returns to the set temperature. Bear in mind for £20 more you can buy an Inkbird with all the wiring, plug and sockets done for you...

No defrost or fan settings and the display could be brighter. Also there are two relays inside so I suspect one or the other is pulled in all the time depending on whether your using it for cooling or heating, so it will use slightly more power than a proper £50 refrigeration controller, would only really matter if your on a battery though. I'm being picky really it's great for what it is, a cheap digital thermostat.

Cannot give a long term review as I have only had it for a number of weeks now. Although it would appear to be 'cheap' it is pretty robust. Used to put life back into an under counter fridge. Mounted in a junction box on rear of fridge - making it accessable to change temp settings etc - very responsive . I can say fridge has not performed better!
