Exactly the part needed to replace my OEM stripped gear (which is apparently made to fail before other components are damaged after long hard use.) Exactly like the original, a perfect fit, and works well and quietly (the old one got noisy as it became more worn.) If I hadn't been able to replace this part my otherwise good working saw would have been unsalvageable, and Remington evidently does not support these saws any more. An easy fix for a vexing problem!

I have sawed up a neighbor's tree, pruned back an apple tree and where it grew over my neighbor's fence and sawed to firewood lengths. Yesterday I sawed up a bunch of Siberian Elm firewood. Just make sure you properly clean all associated moving parts and lubricate the gears, when installing. Works great!

This gear is the weak link, effectively protecting chain and drive system from impact damage like embedded nails, fences, etc. Easy to replace but better to buy two at a time. Keep a new spare.

There are two versions of this same part number in the world. This one is as pictured by the seller (the pictures could be better, BTW), it's recessed on the side opposite the metal gear - the other version has a hump there, and they're not interchangeable. Pic is of my old one, which this replaced - very nicely.
