Love the thin lightweight design. Battery life is superb-- 2 days worth of battery power easily, with moderate use (i.e. not sitting in front of it all day long with display on constantly-- trick is to accomplish 1 task, close the lid & come back to it later). If you're writing a novel on it, you would still get at least a full days' use out of it, assuming you step away from it occasionally to go potty, eat, etc. The ONLY complaint I would make is the "power remaining" indicator in the taskbar menu-- it simply isn't accurate-- but that said, I've experienced similar issue with a completely different Chromebook manufacturer (HP). The percentage number of battery life changes from minute to minute-- not sure if that's an issue with the OS-- but I do know that it's WAY better time between rechargings than a Windows laptop-- I've had this Acer unit for almost a week now using it fairly constantly (as the go-to machine for email, social media etc) and I'm averaging a recharge every other day thus far, which is why I score it as "2 days" for battery life, since the percentage readout on it is virtually useless. I LOVE the Chromebook. Every app on it works perfectly, as long as there is an internet connection of course. I haven't really tested the offline usability of it, but I did insert a 128 GB SD card ("SDX") which the Chromebook instantly recognized and gave me a usable capacity of 119 GB (typical for removable flash-type media). I changed my Chrome settings to designate it as the default download target, and found no problem with it at all. Sound is great for a relatively small device-- it's physical stereo, unlike a lot of similar to smaller sized devices (such as phones) these days. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase, especially taking a chance on a manufacturer refurbished unit (saving $100 from a brand new one!). Only a very slight blemish on the display lid outer surface (some shiny spots on the otherwise matte textured finish) but the display itself is PERFECT. Definitely a keeper, and I look forward to using it regularly.Read full review
