Canon's CP-220 printer does a great job making long-lasting dye-sub prints. Unfortunately (and no fault of the e-Bay sellers of these printers) most have a manufacturing flaw and quickly break. A small nylon tab on a stainless rod that controls the print head splits over time. It's visible when the cover is removed and often can be repaired with a drop of super glue that fills the gap and re-adheres the nylon tab to the rod. See the Internet for repair videos. These printer models are often defective new in the box (I have two). I don't know if older or newer models suffer from the same defect, but the CP-220 definitely does. But since these printers were about $200 new and now are available in the $30 range, it's worth your time to attempt a repair. About 70% of the time the repair works.
