This was a brilliant camera when it came out 3 years ago and priced at almost £400. I bought two as I go Scuba Diving and yes the inevitable happened the seal on my housing leaked and I lost one of them to sea water. Hence my trawl on Ebay for a replacement. It still takes a fantastic pictures with great colours and I have printed many an underwater shot at A3+ and the detail is fantastic. With a housing it happily performs to 40 metres underwater. I would still recommend anyone to buy a second hand one as they are just as good on the surface.
I love it. It is a replacement for my 900 Ixus ti so I knew I would be getting a great camera. Lovely titanium! Feels nice & solid & sturdy in the hand. Love the viewfinder which isn't on many cameras at this price point. Excellent, top quality product from Canon and a real bargain from Dixons.
sometimes the picture is blurry and there are lines of light. Bought to replace a lost one exactly the same. This one is not good
Verified purchase: Yes | Condition: Pre-owned
Had one, dropped it in the sea, got newer fuji to replace. No optical viewfinder so can't see what you're framing up on brightish days. Also, crap colours. Came back to this model. Lovely!
This camera was one of if not the best in IXUS range when it was released. It did cost £379. And that was 3 years ago. I purchased it when I was so drunk I don't remember that.... sometimes I wish I did install this browser plugin which makes you solve mathematics before you can access certain websites, as I do loads of online shopping while drunk, then I regret. Well, I don't regret buying that camera. I owe DSLR for over 3 years now, and I did need compact camera to carry with me, I did need one which is sturdy , has loads of manual settings, has good ISO range and takes good pictures with flash on. Plus has good battery life. That's all I wanted and I got. Now you can buy this camera cheaper than it was, and it fulfils all those requirements. For those complaining on image quality: learn how to use it! I know instruction manual is not included, but quick web research will let you download one, I didn't bother with one as I know cameras well but for those who don't it's useful. Strap is necessitous, camera is quite slippery, but c'mon, it's titanium. I can't be bothered to describe all of it's functions, all I can say is it will give you excellent results if you know what you are doing... Minus points: full resolution video can be jerky but I wasn't looking for camera which can do it, so it depends on you if you do; fingerprints on silver bits; mono sound; none of them really bothers me, but then again, if you want certain things in camera it can bother you, still five stars from me! One thing which bothers me is that lens is not really wideangle at short distance and zoom isn't quite good (3,7), but I knew it before I bought it (well, I had it in my wish list for ages, I knew specs, but don't remember buying it!) Overall, very happy, and I am not going to look for another one til it breaks I think!Read full review
