Good Price and good performance. Just bought a new TV and there are less outputs available; only available one for sound is optical. The only way I could interface with my existing setup ( which doesn't have optical inputs) was this convertor, which came with all required connections. Quite happy with this product.

New telly without headphone or rca socket and sound system without optical input so bought this converter from ebay and it works a treat. Just plug the optical output from the telly with the suplied lead, the other end into the input on the box and your old headphone or rca connectors into the output, the power lead into a usb port on the telly thats it. Clear sound from a new telly without expensive sound bar.

I need to use headphones to hear the tv without upsetting my neighbours with excessive volume. My new tv does not have a headphone socket so this unit via the optical lead provides me with the answer

Initially this device would only work on standard definition TV and not HD TV. This turned out to be my fault as my set top box and TV were set to output 5.1 surround on HD TV. Once I corrected this to stereo it now works faultlessly. The sound is excellent and I now enjoy TV through my Denon stereo amp and Rogers high end speakers. What I like is that it is USB powered so when I turn off my TV the box powers down too. It's so nice and small that it can easily be tucked out of sight.

Does what it's supposed to. Converts stereo digital signals - either optical or coaxial - into an analogue output, that you can feed into your amplifier / active speakers etc. I purchased it to provide an output for some small active Bose speakers, to improve the sound form my kitchen TV. Simply connect the provided optical lead and also the included USB lead (it can take its power from the TV USB port) then connect your speakers / amplifier. Job done. Make sure your source (TV etc) is set to stereo / PCM output - not Dolby etc. One review slated this device for not being able to drive headphones loud enough - It's not designed for that.. I doubt it will win any prizes for sound quality when used in a high end system - but for my use, it's great.
