This is a solid performing, basic hard drive. They fit the older IBM think pad T and R series (20 to 50), which require .37" thickness drives. 30 GB is small in today's standards, but I'm running mostly XP or Linux (Easy Peasy 1.6) on my laptops, and keep the larger picture and video files on a 1TB external drive. So far the drives perform well and comprise excellent value for what I paid. I recommend these drives and would buy them again.
I bought it as a replacement for the hard drive in an IBM 600X Thinkpad. The old one was getting very noisy, usually a warning of its' immanent self destruction. When I got the replacement, all I had to do swap it out and install the O.S. and other software. I was amazed at how quiet the new drive is. It's the quietest drive I've ever NOT heard. Negatives? None, it's three times as big as the old one, the cooling fan makes more noise than the new hard drive. If any of my other laptops needs a new HD, I will look for that make and model!!

Not much to say about hard drives except this brand has been rather reliable in the years that I've used them. However like any other hard drive for a laptop it is very sensitive to drops and other forces.
