I was afraid how item's quality. After receiving and using it, I discovered that Apgear is trust worthy and the item same what you find it in HTC mobiles box. These are NOT genuine original so that's a straight Trading Standards issue right there. The genuine htc product has the htc logo embossed on the back of the earphone housing. These are stupendously cheap chinese crappy knockoffs. The sound is distorts at higher volume. The ribbon cable is stiffer than the original and gets in the way as it won't hang properly. When the 3.5 mm jack is plugged into the phone it causes the volume slider in the notifications bar to slide up and down madly and randomly. The jack is also substntially longer than the original. The microphone also picks up ambient noise triggering random unwanted speech requests in Android. Swap it out for the genuine original htc product that came with the phone and all those issues disappear. Plug in the quality beats by Dr Dre earphones for the htc and they work absolutely fine. I wanted a lightweight genuine htc set because I ripped off one of the earbuds by accident. The beats ones are great but they aren't great for travelling. They tangle like mad. The original htc ribbon cable earphones are perfect. It seems I can't get them online and no-one out there describes them properly. Sound quality is 3.8 out of 5 . Bass is ok. Lowest it will play about 45Hz Trebles are a little low but ok average A little peak at mid range ( around 1KHz) thats the problem . Plastic midrange in vocals 😂 . Mids are like what the mid should be in cheap 3$ headphones... Considering the price its a good choice because the chord is durable nd because of inbuilt microphone I reccomend you to get this. Overall is 3.9 out of 5
