it is very important to use original legitimate HP ink cartridges, the reconditioned kind is a very poor mistake if print quality is important. I said the print quality is good, but ONLY if your ink cartridge is Original HP 96 or 98 (for Black) and Original HP 95 or 97 (for tri color).

Received the printer in good shape externally but the ink cartridges leaked all over the print heads which I had to clean the best I could. After the cleaning the printer, it would not feed. I thought the the ink cartridges were empty since they leaked all over making a mess, so I bought new cartridges hoping that was the problem----wrong--- it still does not feed. I know i only paid $ 5.66 for the printer which was advertised as refurbished, but the freifght was outrages over $ 30.00. I emailed the seller telling him about the problem and asked him what he would recommend. I still have not heard from him. I bought a piece of junk that looked good in the advertised picture.

This is a sleek looking little printer with a small footprint. I know that it's mostly for printing photos, and it probably does a good job of that, but I purchased it to use to print receipts in a small business. I've only used it a short time, and so my thoughts may change later, but so far: Pros: Small - not too much space needed Cons: I bought it for speed - it's rated at 30 pages ppm on the B&W option. But there's no way it's that quick, even when set on the draft. HP software install - I don't know why HP thinks they must give you all the knowledge they have every time you purchase a product, but it takes FOREVER to install all the little gadgets it thinks it needs, and it takes a lot of room on your harddrive. Overall: I am happy enough with this unit. Next time I will not get a photo printer to do a plain paper job. I'll probably move it to my home for use with my digital camera later.Read full review
For an inexpensive printer, this is quite good. I am not sure what the other posters are saying that the printing is bad. I printed some 4x6 on the best quality HP Premium plus photo paper with the highest quality ink (HP99) and resolution and the photos came out fantastic. I know it's expensive, but that is a tradition with ink jet printers. As far as the paper jam issue this has not happened to me. The two issues was the install CD was defective (had to download from the HP .com) and for some reason I hear very slight hum/buzz coming from the printer (even when it's powered off). This would not be a big deal, except that I am a noise freak. Does anybody else hear this from their printer??? - reliability is yet to be determined, as I just got it.
I've had this particular model for years and loved it's performance and print quality. When it finally did die, I wanted to replace it with the same make and model printer.
