I first had one of these (old monochrome version) in 2000 then a colour one a couple of years later. I ran my life on it - diary & appointments, contacts, to do lists, shopping lists, money manager. Still cannot do without it. I know that I could transfer all this to my smartphone but none of the phone apps are any better plus I would have to manually transfer all the data.... very painstaking. Some of the Tungsten apps are far better even now. So I just buy remaining unopened Tungstens and synch them with my Palm Desktop in order to always have a working one. I'm on my fourth now. I also love the ability to handwrite everything (hate the tiny phone screen keyboards) using the stylus and have the Tungsten convert it to text. It also has a book reader plus Microsoft Office apps for Word and Excel.Read full review

It is the second one I have bought, the first nearing the end of its life after many years of life . It is an ideal compact store of information and secure from hackers (unless you choose to interact with the web) Works for me. As 'old tech' no longer supported, it has its limitations but as reference store/record it is sufficient for me

Hello, I take a lot of notes for my work and I often use special characters accompanied by a little sketch. Not wanting to use paper for ethics issue (paper being made from living things), I was looking for another way to take notes. I opt for a PDA with notetaking hand up and I selected the "Palm Tungsten E2 PDA." Since I use it every day and I am very happy, he filled his role perfectly. I have not had any problems with it. I bought this product to replace the one I had had for many years which gave up the ghost and would not work properly any more. I like it because it is my organiser I like having all this information to hand for 'no money' rather than having in on an expensive mobile phone. I can link with a PC so all of the information it holds is also accessible there. It is so much more flexible than a paper diary, I can write notes and information down easily when this is necessary in shops for example, access dates and contact numbers which are sorted into different categories. Also, the world clock helps when abroad.
