This was bought as a birthday present for a friend; he'd requested it as a replacement copy for one which went for a walk with his daughter's (now ex) boyfriend who had sticky fingers. Anyway, he's very happy with it, especially as it has a few extra tracks which weren't on the original version.

This is a re-release of the second full-lenght album released by Seattle hard-rockers Queensryche. The much-needed remaster of the original 1986 album was augmented by four extra tracks back in 2003. Curiously, it only featured one track form the actual period, the 12" version of the Dal Bello cover 'Gonna Get Close To You'. Two live recordings were added, 'Walk in the Shadows' from 1991 and the excellent semi-acoustic 'The Killing Words' from 1994. The 'Acoustic remix' of 'I Dream In Infrared' originally released in 1991 completed the bonus tracks. The 11 songs of the album retained their quality and clearly showed the potential of the band. The article by Paul Suter shed light on how the album was conceived while the artwork and lyrics of the original release was augmented by artifacts from a fan-collection. This is a remaster done with care and attention for detail. If 'Empire' and Operation: Mindcrime showed the Ryche at the peak of their creativity then 'Rage for Order' was the prelude.Read full review
