I have used many irons, the good ones are expensive. This is the first low-cost one I have found that works well. The stand is a bit flimsy, but adequate and you have to make sure the bit is well tightened - check before switching on. Static heat control is good, but the tip temp does fall away when soldering thicker wires or large PCB tracks. For general home / hobby use it is a good choice - not so good for production work.
